Adelaide season DELAYED due to ongoing border closure

I am writing to you with some difficult news regarding our upcoming Adelaide season of WE WILL ROCK YOU.

As you know, we are due to start rehearsals in November with our season playing in January. As this is a major touring production, we have more than 50 cast & crew members who reside in New South Wales and Victoria and have to travel interstate for the show. We have been waiting and hoping that the South Australian border would re-open in time for all our interstate cast and crew to join us for the show, but we still have no clarity around this at all. To make matters worse, our cast & crew need to build the show in December in Queensland before heading to South Australia, and the Queensland border will not open in time for this to happen either.

Even if the borders were able to open in time, we are still very concerned that participants under the age of 12 have not yet had the opportunity to be vaccinated, and putting unvaccinated participants on stage with hundreds of other performers and thousands of audience members could pose a significant health risk once COVID has had a chance to enter from interstate.

We are heartbroken to tell you that, yet again, we have no choice but to delay the start of our national tour and postpone the Adelaide season of WE WILL ROCK YOU.

We are still working with the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to confirm new dates. With so many concerts and tours forced to postpone due to the pandemic, it’s quite a complicated process, but we will have new dates confirmed by mid-November and will provide these to you then.
